Abilities Cafe addresses the lack of employment and social opportunities for people with disabilities in Monterey County, where unemployment within this community is 72%. The cafe will provide meaningful work experience, training, and income while creating a safe, inclusive social space that celebrates exceptional abilities.

Our vision is to create a community run coffee shop that caters to the special needs and “abilities” of our population to provide employment and training. Our goal is to promote interaction and acceptance of differences among all people.
Who we are
We are a collaborative group of educators, parents, business and community members from all over the Monterey County. Our organization is devoted to improving the quality of life, sense of purpose and belonging for individuals with special needs.
